HUD Resident Benefit

ConnectHomeUSA: Free Digital Tools for HUD-Assisted Residents

A public-private partnership ensuring that families in Public Housing Authorities (PHA) have equal access to high-speed internet, free devices, and digital skills training.

The ConnectHomeUSA Ecosystem

ConnectHomeUSA is not a direct "application" program like Lifeline. Instead, it works through your local Public Housing Authority (PHA). If your building participates, you may automatically qualify for free internet and devices without needing to apply individually to the FCC. Check ConnectHomeUSA.org for participating communities.

Location-Based

Eligibility is tied to your residence in a participating HUD-assisted community.

Automatic Verification

Your leasing office often handles the paperwork for you.

Device & Training

Many PHAs provide free laptops (not just tablets) for job seekers.

Digital Literacy & Training

Getting online is just the first step. ConnectHomeUSA partners offer free courses to help you master your new device.
