VA Video Connect: Your Health, Anywhere

What is VA Video Connect?

VA Video Connect allows Veterans to meet with their VA health care providers through live video on any computer, tablet, or mobile device. Learn more at connectedcare.va.gov.

The Tablet Loan Program

For Veterans who do not have a device or internet connection, the VA offers the Digital Divide Consult. If eligible, the VA can loan you an internet-connected tablet to ensure you can attend your appointments from home.

How to Request Your Device

  1. Consult Your VA Provider: Speak with your VA primary care provider or mental health specialist. Tell them you are interested in telehealth but lack the necessary device or internet connection.
  2. Digital Divide Consult: Your provider will refer you to a VA Social Worker for a "Digital Divide Consult." They will assess your financial need and connectivity status.
  3. Device Issuance: If approved, the VA will ship an iPad or generic Android tablet with cellular data enabled directly to your home address. Visit VA.gov for more details.

Veteran FAQs

Unlike the Lifeline commercial program, tablets issued directly by the VA for telehealth are considered medical equipment. They are loaned to you and must be returned if you no longer need them for care.

VA-issued tablets are managed devices. They are locked down to primarily support VA Video Connect and other health apps. For a personal device, apply for the Lifeline Program instead.
